Day 1 ish…

So

Although it’s already January 6th and I have just spent the first 5 days grumpily taking part in dry January while my companions drown themselves in red wine, it’s my day 1. After a week (or two) of heavy indulgence I have finally got my act together and deemed this year the Year of Me.

2018 was an interesting year to say the least, full of boys, heartbreaks, too much alcohol and tears. The year of ‘discovery’ to frame it nicely – and yes I realise most of you will probably be laughing into your phone at the fact that me, a 17 year old, believes they have ‘discovered’ themselves, but shh okay – I am young and naive, let me wallow in my own blissful ignorance. So after all my dreadful life experience, I have decided that I am going to stop drowning my issues with shots of tequila, and instead let myself flourish into the person I have always wanted to be and not take anyone’s shit – because I take it a lot!

What I learnt in 2018:

  • If someone wants to talk to you they will, and if they want to and they don’t what is the point.
  • You can’t drink your problems away – you just cry more about them but this time its in public and not your bed.
  • NEVER EVER love a friend, it hurts, a lot.
  • Bread and cheese make me feel sick, I really shouldn’t eat them.
  • You get out what you put in, give life your all and take every opportunity you get.

My New Year’s Resolutions How to make 2019 your bitch:

  • Cut the parts of yourself out that are dragging you down i.e. drinking a whole bottle of gin every weekend and blaming others when shit doesn’t go quite right.
  • Eat things that make you feel good – for me this means cutting out dairy and processed carbs and embracing my paleo lifestyle which makes me feel fab (would 100% recommend!)
  • Remember how lucking and grateful you are, never take this amazing life for granted.
  • Stop giving a shit about what everyone else thinks and please just put yourself first, they aren’t you and they don’t know what is best for you.

Lets just all promise, for once, to be who we want to be.

So, this is me.
